Samsung has been trying to keep up with Google in relation to monthly updates Android security. Last week South Korea brought the month of bug fixes package March for smartphone Galaxy S5, Note 4 and Note Edge. Now the company starts to release the update of April to the Galaxy S7 edge in South Korea.
This news actually comes to take us by surprise, not only by Google in fact has not yet begun to release the month correction package April for the Nexus line, but also by the fact that we see Samsung bring to update a week before his expected release. As can be seen below, the new security package has signed scheduled for 2 the next month.
The new firmware is being released via OTA and It requires the user to download a package of 120 MB. The model in question is the SM-G935S with G935SKSU1APCF baseband and kernel 3.18.14-7542290 dated March 24. This shows that the new build MMB29K.G935SKSU1APCF comes not only with security improvements made by Google, but also shows a new code corrected by Samsung. Unfortunately, it is not clear what changes beyond these may be included.
Also on Thursday (24) we have seen Samsung release an update to Galaxy traditional S7, in its variant with Exynos, bringing performance improvements and stability of TouchWiz. We expect this new firmware released for the Galaxy S7 edge also bring the same improvements. Not to mention that when the S7 is finally available in Brazil, we will have an updated unit with all the Google security patches.
