Facebook seems to have solved a problem in the quality of pictures sent via Android application for the social network. To save space on their servers, the service reduces the quality of the images, which created distortions in the final result, with images of poor resolution and full of distortions. The problem only occurred in the upload via smartphones, while the desktop version always managed to cope reasonably well with the conversion.
Now, Facebook will release HD images shipping option in your Android app. The service has been tested by Android Police, who considered quite satisfactory news. The site sent a picture of 6 MB with a resolution of 5312 x 2988 pixels, and obtained the conversion to a new photo of 443 KB, resized to 2048 x 1152 pixels. 2048 pixels are the maximum that the uploader of the social network desktop version gets also, which means that Android app now has the same ability to upload photos.
The new option, however, is obviously turned off by default . Facebook prefers to save space on their servers at the expense of the images posted by users quality. Of course, we also have to remember that social networking does not value both quality photos, but in connecting people. To the untrained eye, up an image with the best possible quality or does not substantially the same as it is possible to compare between the original, with full resolution , version HD and the version with the option HD disabled with 960 x 540 pixels .
