Shashlik: Run Android apps on Linux – Pplware

The Google application store available today millions of applications designed especially for smartphones and tablets. But with projects like RemixOS or Phoenix OS you can run these apps in a desktop environment.

For those who want to enjoy the Android apps on Linux just to use the shashlik.

shashlik

The shashlik is an open source project that is part of a different principle from other projects. Instead of being another operating system, shashlik allows the user to perform the Android apps directly on your Linux.

In other words, with this user tool now can run apps like Angry Birds or Microsoft Office directly on Linux as well as other native apps.

Flappy Bird running on Linux

according to those responsible for shashlik, this project has evolved enough but there are currently still some apps that do not work. It is true that beyond RemixOS or Phoenix OS, there are emulators such as the Genymotion, BlueStacks or AmiDuOS but … are emulators.

Using shashlik?

If you have Ubuntu distro, or a derivative of this, just get the .deb here. There is also available a package based on Arch Linux systems

Once installed just get the APK (eg via APK Mirror) associated with the app that intend to run and run shashlik as follows.:

  / opt / shashlik / bin / shashlik-install nomeapp.apk

Shashlik_02

the project shashlik can be beginning of a lot in the world of GNU / Linux and perhaps especially in the Ubuntu Phone segment, because, in fact, Android is based on Linux.
