The calendar, as had been anticipated by the technological platform in June last, marks the end of the service (01 January) to the mobile phones that work with Android versions 2.1 and Android 2.2 for iPhone 3GS (equipped with the Apple operating system version iOS 6 and Windows Phone 7.
The change is the result of option of WhatsApp of to focus on the platforms most used in the market (including new features that those versions no longer support).
The purpose of compatibility will happen in two phases, the first already to 01 January (for the versions and systems specified), and the second, at the end of June 2017, for the systems BlackBerry and BlackBerry 10, and Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60
