The CyanogenMod is one of the custom ROMs more known and more used in the Android world. This ROM has a set of options and a level of customization that is not found in the ROMs stock of the manufacturers.
Unfortunately, this project will end next December 31! There will be no more ROMs for Android.
sad News to this is that we get to know this morning. After several rumors, the team responsible for the project, CyanogenMod has announced that it will end up with their services and the development of ROMs for Android (both versions nightlies as stable).
The source code is still available for those who want to develop their own ROM.
This is undoubtedly a bad news to the Android world as this was the custom ROM the most popular (in spite of being still alive in other projects).
This project had already reached the stage of maturation and has already had a large amount of developers that struggled to pull the best possible performance of the different devices supported officially. Although the list of supported devices was not long, there were unofficial versions for many models, obtained through the compilation of these ROMs.
