Nintendo worried about piracy in the Android – Eurogamer.en

In statements to Mashable, Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo, explained why Super Mario Run, which is already available for iOS, and whose analysis can be read here, was not made available at the same time for Android devices, and because it is that requires a constant connection to the internet.

according To the genius of the Japanese Super Mario Run will come later to the Android when Nintendo be able to be sure that the application is protected and all of the players are able to play in a stable environment.

“our software is very important to us. And also for the consumers that buy the game, we want to make sure that we are able to offer a way in which the software is secure, and that are able to play in a stable environment,” said Miyamoto.

The constant internet connection required for Super Mario Run is a way for Nintendo to ensure that all three modes of the game work as it should be, and that the software remains secure.

“In fact, security is one of the elements by which we have decided to choose the first by the iPhone and iOS. This is only based on the current development environment – a requirement inserted in the game to support the safety and the fact that all three game modes are connected to the internet and interact with each other.”

“At one point we thought it would be cool to have the World Tour mode is available separately, without requiring a connection. But then the challenge would be to operate separately, complicating the connection with the modes Toad Rally and Kingdom. And as these two modes require a save on the network, we had to also integrate the World Tour mode.”

When asked whether the security that was temporary exclusivity to the format iOS is actually piracy, Miyamoto answered that yes.
