The original Galaxy A5 already has more than two years of age, but it seems that Samsung will continue to support the phone with the major updates of the Android system during the next few months.
The smartphone came to the market in 2014, with Android 4.4 KitKat. After that, Samsung launched two major updates of the Android operating system that has made the phone the Android Marshmallow.
The last major update, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it came to the Galaxy A5 appreciably in August. However, those who thought that this would be the last update of the Android system for the equipment, they were wrong.
An important carrier australian has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy A5 will eventually receive another major update in January, the Android 7.0 Nougat. According to the carrier, the update is already in testing phase and is expected to arrive at the devices at the end of January 2017.
We is there any reason for Samsung not to release the update on Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy A5, however this update has only been confirmed by one of the leading operators in Australia.
Maybe there is some hope for owners of the Samsung Galaxy A3, because this packs the same chipset of A5. However the operator said nothing about this particular device, and we do not have any additional information on this subject.
