Ransomware for Android increases four times in just one year – SAPO Tek

The number of ransomware attacks targeting Android devices has multiplied by four between April 2015 and March 2016, affecting more than 136,000 users worldwide, says Kaspersky Security Network Annual Report.

Carried out by Kaspersky Lab, the study mainly focuses on the outlook of this particular threat and now shows that among the total of affected users, the highest percentage is from Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United . States

More specifically, the total number of Android mobile devices hit by ransomware attacks increased from 35,413 between 2014 and 2015 to 136,532 between 2015 and 2016.
