Google announced a new feature for the Android operating system that shares the user’s location during an emergency call.
Android will use the Wi-Fi network, the GPS and the tower that the smartphone used to make the call to identify the exact device location and send the coordinates through the data to the emergency services.
the idea, according to the company, is to provide better accuracy of location user, which could result in more than 10,000 lives saved per year.
“This feature will only be accessed by emergency service providers and their exact location will not be seen or manipulated by Google” , published Akshay Kannan, Product Manager.
