Google wants to protect Android against spam calls – Pplware

Google has sought to establish Android as a secure platform at various levels. Far beyond the security of user data, also wants to ensure that they are not bothered with the latest spam practices. Among this spam are phone calls that we want to sell products in which we have no interest.

To end these spam calls, Google will provide its calling application with a filter that warns users to potential calls of this type.

Android Nexus

for some years it is assumed practice spam calls. These, made by operators or robots, try to get users to buy or subscribe to services that probably do not want or need, being a real pest.

The news that Google now brings will allow users of the Nexus One and Android phones are always aware that one of these calls are coming to your phone. Google’s idea is not to stop these calls, but alert users to this possibility, and they may then decide whether or not to answer the call.

Not being a native Android functionality, Google decided to put -la on your Phone application, which the company makes available on the Play Store. The novelty will be in version 4.0, which should arrive soon for users of Nexus smartphones.

 Android calls spam

This feature is only available for Nexus smartphones and Android One, which run at least version 6 of Android.

How already have this feature

Google will in the coming weeks available in the Play Store this new version the Phone application. If you do not want to wait until then and if you want to already have this version, you can download it from this link.

send user location by calling

Another feature that Google announced, but dedicated to the European market, is sending the location of users to emergency services when there is a call. This is a feature that already exists in the United States and that ensures that the emergency services can get a location of each phone / user in case of need.

At first this submission is only available in the UK and Estonia, and later extended to other European countries. Google ensures that the location data will not be sent to you and is intended only to emergency services. There is also the guarantee that 90% of Android smartphones will be able to provide this data.

These two Android news come make it even better and give users better protection against both calls spam, or in case you need help.
