Google may launch in the coming days a device of virtual reality, supposedly called Android VR. At least that’s what indicates the Unreal Engine 4:12 code, graphics rendering engine that runs on the Oculus Rift and is in testing period.
The term “Android VR” was seen by a developer, who used Reddit to publish its findings. Although this alone novelty is no guarantee that a new device can be on the way, it can gain strength when considering that Google started to invest more in hardware and a headset VR Google would be in the plans.
Another possibility is that, in fact, Google bid soon not a machine, but an Android version entirely dedicated to run and display videos and games in virtual reality. It would be the same strategy adopted in the past, with the launch of Android Auto, Android TV and Android Wear, each intended for a device type.
the rumor, however, is weakened if we consider that the mention of Android VR may refer to only one of the Unreal Engine plugin to operate with Android we already know. Google is worth remembering, already offers some kind of support immersive videos in current versions of the system, needed to run Google Cardboard together with smartphones.
Whatever the case, confirmation or negative should be known in a few days since Google I / O 2016 perfect stage for this type of ad, occurs on May 18 – the agenda, worth remembering, since confesses that virtual reality will be one of the highlights.
