Chromebooks will run Android system applications already this year – SAPO Tek

Long awaited and finally announced: the Android applications will reach the Chromebooks. The news was announced on the blog for developers of mobile operating system on Thursday.

In practice, this means that applications that we use daily in Android smartphones will now be available in laptops with Chrome OS to similar to what happens with the Windows Store for some time.

According to the publication made on Thursday on the Android Developers Blog, the expansion of the mobile universe to computers will allow for better performance of some applications when combined with the more powerful specifications of some computers.

Google also reported that these apps will not be confined to an interaction touch and that keyboards and mice will be integrated with these programs. In addition, and similar to what we will bring Android N, multitasking between apps will be a possibility. And yes, there will be full screen to enjoy the thousands of Android games.

In the first quarter of this year and for the first time, Chromebooks sales surpassed those of Apple computers, according to IDC data.
Play Store will be available for developers only in early June the ASUS Chromebook Flio, Chromebook Pixel (2015) and the Acer Chromebook R11. Only in the autumn will be available to users. However, there is a but … not all Chromebooks will support Android applications.
