A major update for Skype last year introduced a redesign of the application interface for phones following the guidelines of Material Design Google, which made the app feel more native on Android. Now launched, version 7.0 brings this same change in the interface, but this time focused tablet with green little robot, which makes Skype become more fashionable and practical on larger screens. Besides the new look, the update also brings a view with multiple panels, powerful search, and more than is usually possible to do by default in Android.
Redesigned from scratch, Skype 7.0 has a number inspired by the elements of Material Design. A floating action button in the conversation list allows users to send messages and initiate voice and video calls directly from the main application screen. This redesign is more remarkable when viewed in landscape orientation. A new multi-pane view shows a list of conversations on the left and a message field to the right for a multitask faster.
Version 7.0 Skype adds a universal search for improved Android tablets that can filter chats, groups, contacts, and bots recently added. The survey can be accessed through an icon in the upper right corner and the results are shown on the main screen of the application.
This version also brings together all contacts from your address book in the right corner of the screen to facilitate find a friend quickly to start a conversation or share a file. The novelty is available in the Play Store.
