Blackberry will launch two new smartphones with Android yet … – Tudocelular.com

Blackberry is betting big on Android to continue surviving in the smartphone market. Proof of this is that the manufacturer intends to launch in 2016 more two devices with the Google system , assured CEO John Chen in a interview with The National. One of the cell will follow the same line of Blackberry Priv, which has physical keyboard and touch screen; and another will only be equipped with sensitive touch display. According to the executive, they will be used to separate the Priv public – in his opinion, the company’s first smart Android would have been “too high-end”

The main problem. would be the high price charged by Priv, that despite solve the lack of apps in BB10 system, still costs about $ 700 in the uS, equivalent to R $ 2,540. The device price range would have been one of the causes of failure in sales, forcing the manufacturer to reduce the profit margin advertising promotions.

Therefore, s two new Blackberry Androids will be positioned the intermediate segment , priced around $ 300 to $ 400 or R $ 1,090 and R $ 1,455 in direct conversion. The expectation is that they attract a larger audience when they are launched in the second half of this year.

the Economic Times, Chen detailed plans to expand the presence of the Blackberry in the world market. The Brazil, it seems, remains out.

We danger. We have a strategy and we are now joining people and infrastructure to run it. We chose 10 countries at the time, including India, and markets such as USA, Canada, UK and Germany, where we have had a presence. The plan needs patience, but we are committed.

The BlackBerry Priv is not yet available in Brazilian stores. To be notified when it arrives.
