Android Auto is released in Brazil; see which cars are supported – Globo.com

Google released on Monday (4) Auto Android application in Brazil. The platform takes functions of Android phones to the car. To use it, you must have a center that already has the system, download the app in the Google Play store and connect your smartphone in the car via USB and Bluetooth cable for voice commands.

There are still few the cars in the country that have the system (see below) . The same with rival Apple, which released a similar system in Brazil, CarPlay last year; it is compatible with the iPhone.

Android Auto is possible to use the car’s screen applications like Google Maps, Play Music, Now and Spotify (see complete list).

Also You can make calls and send messages by Whatsapp and Skype, for example.

The Waze is still being modified and has no date to appear on Android Auto in the country.

Ford , Suzuki, Fiat, Hyundai and Mitsubishi promise adapt this year also, according to Flavio Ferreira, director of Android partnerships and Google Chrome for Latin America.

for those who want to install on their own, Pioneer sells a radio with the system, the AVIC F70TV, which costs R $ 2,799.

the two technology giants now dispute the preference of drivers, but Google went ahead with their autonomous cars, which already run tests in the United States.

how it works
the big difference to use Android Auto instead of the own smartphone or a mirror system, such as MirrorLink is that all applications are adapted for use in the car.

This means that most commands are done by voice and interactions with others are eliminated to avoid distractions. For this reason, Facebook is unlikely to be approved by Google. The Whatsapp, at least, it works well. You can listen and reply to messages.

Another advantage is not having to be holding the phone while driving, which, as well as unsafe, is prohibited and may give fine. It is also not necessary to fit the device in some support in the car. All compatible applications appear directly in the multimedia vehicle center.

While the device is connected, a flat screen blocks any action on the phone, or if you want to use an application that is not ready to Android Auto, you must unplug the phone.

security
according to Ferreira, the system ensures more safety to the driver and also from hackers. Recently, the FBI warned vehicle owners about the risk of hacker invasion, which has arrived to control a vehicle.

For the executive, Android Auto users will benefit from Google’s high level of concern the security. In July 2015, Fiat Chrysler has recalled 1.4 million vehicles in the United States to update the media center that was targeted by hackers.
