Microsoft releases public beta of Cortana for Android in the US – Tudocelular.com

After a private beta and some leaks on the platform, Microsoft officially launched on Monday (24) the first public beta of Cortana personal assistant for Android. The arrival of the application had been expected for some time, but have not yet been disclosed information about the launch of the competitor of Siri for iOS.

Since in general, Cortana for Android is not so different from assistant for computers running Windows 10. You can set a few reminders, search the web, annotate flight information, for example, and do regular surveys with her. Microsoft sees the application as a sort of extension of her resources to all compatible devices.

Although it can already perform a number of functions on your smartphone, the Cortana does not have full access to the Android. But you can already say “Hey Cortana” to start the application – the command is equivalent to the traditional “OK Google”. With it you will not be able to open applications through the wizard, or even make configuration changes. Until then, these advanced features are only available to Cortana on PCs with Windows 10.

If you currently are a user of Windows 10, you should already know the benefits of Cortana. The Android app is the perfect companion for your PC with Windows 10, extending the functionality of the wizard on any device that you carry wherever you go.

The bad part about this is that the public beta of Cortana is only compatible with US users. “ Cortana for Android is only available for the US, but we are planning to extend it to other markets ,” the company said. The download assistant can be done for free on this page.

Microsoft also reiterated today that it is working on a version of Cortana for iOS, but it is unclear when they will offers -la.
