The vulnerability, called QuadRooter, was detected by a team of computer security company Check Point research, which analyzed software that operates in the US Qualcomm processors. Check Point believes that about 900 million mobile devices with the Android operating system may be at risk.
This bug could be used by cybercriminals to gain access to smartphones and tablets and steal data on them. However, Check Point indicates that, so far, been no cases of attacks related to the failure.
QuadRooter was found in software that controls the device’s graphics as well as software that allows communication between various processes that occur in the machine.

- OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3
- Some models of Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung S7 Edge
- Sony Xperia Z Ultra
