Android is Google’s flagship operating system, with versions for smartphone, TV, wearable and car, but it can be replaced in the future. The search giant is developing a new proprietary software to run on virtually any device, called Fuchsia , plant name known as play-of-princess.
The project is real and already has published documentation on GitHub repository. Yet little is known about the new, but one thing is certain: this will be the first Google system that will not be based on the Linux kernel. Unlike Android and Chrome OS, the new bet using Magenta kernel.
This means that the company is producing something completely different from the beginning – the kernel is the most fundamental core of any system. Still, it seems that it will go to any hardware, mobile phones and computers to car panels, TVs and Internet of Things.
The new software uses a programming language Google’s own, called Dart. But, despite all the different bases, the look should adopt Material Design. – Documentation shows every sign of animation attendance, shadows and other known elements of the current design standard
the Fuchsia – which is still far from a final name defined – should be compatible with any device, but is likely to be done to equip a new generation of devices for home. Will appliances, door locks and small appliances compounds modest chips remaining to run the full Android.
It could, in a way, be a similar strategy that Samsung has applied for more basic appliances. While the Korean works with the trio Tizen, Android and Windows; Google could have also Fuchsia, Android and Chrome OS. The fact is that the software exists and has even been confirmed by an engineer with the company, although still there has been no official announcement.
What do you think of a new Google operating system completely different from Android?
