No more than a rumor but there are several international media mentioning sources close to Apple to come up with the news. And where there is “smoke Apple” there’s usually fire.
The company was started in 2013 a smartphone exchange program in the United States, offering a discount for old iPhones on the purchase of new models, and now this program may be extended to include Android and Blackberry smartphones. The idea is to increase market share.
Curiosamento, or maybe not, the rumors do not mention the exchange of Windows Phone devices.
Sales of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus hit the 74.5 million units in the fourth quarter 2014, an increase of 46% compared to sales of the iPhone 5 in 2013, but the goal is to achieve a enlargement of more aggressive market.
The high price of the iPhone is one of the barriers identified by many users to purchase Apple smartphones, so the trade program could help reduce the amount originally paid for the purchase of new iPhones.
Apple exchange program is conducted in partnership with Brightstar Corp., which then resells the mobile users outside the United States. The program came to generate some heat in the maintenance time due to some data that had not been correctly removed from the equipment.
The Bloomberg tried to contact Brightstar to know if the company would be involved in the new exchange program but those responsible did not comment, as also happens with Apple does not confirm the rumor.
