Gazon: Another headache for Android users – Pplware

The use of operating systems and applications that make up its ecosystem is subject to security issues that must be taken into account.

There are several known instances of malware and virus spread in these systems and that mean that users are victims of attacks, often without it are unaware.

Gazon is the latest malware that is ravaging the world of Android, which is a plague malware that spreads very politely, deceiving users and promising fake offers.

Gazon was discovered recently by AdaptiveMobile and may well be the most successful malware that has emerged in recent times in the world of mobile devices.

Its spread has been brilliant and soon spread to thousands of devices. Only the top 4 North American telecom operators the Gazon has infected more than 4000 devices, is not bound by this place and have already been detected in several other countries.

This malware has two different ways of doing things, the first being devoted to its spread and the second dedicated to raising money for its creator.

The form used to spread uses some social engineering and is done by sending SMS messages by the user infected.

The received message contains a link to access an application that promises users discounts on the Amazon store in exchange for installing some applications.

When installing the said application users need to go through some websites and click on some advertising, thereby giving money to win the creator of Gazon.

Throughout this process of navigation and click on the sites spread of Gazon process begins with sending an SMS to all user contacts, again with the message that initially received and it promises those discounts on Amazon.

This is just a scam and malware that is affecting the proper functioning of the Android ecosystem and demonstrating some of its weaknesses .

It uses in part to the innocence of the users and their damage are already low, limited to “steal” the SMS sending without authorization and to propagate and to give money to gain by its creator, through advertising that presents.

Even though limited in their degree of destruction or theft, it still show the simple way thousands of Android users are vulnerable and subject to problems.

If you receive one of these messages, the promise of Amazon gift cards, think twice not access the link included. If you take this simple step will be protected and out of trouble
