Google has already begun to capitalize on the popularity of its Google Maps navigation application. Starting today, users who do research in the application for Android and iOS summer “relevant ads” on the bottom of the page.
In
publication which explains the mechanism, Google talk to local merchants. “Attract new customers with local ads in Google Maps application,” writes the company, stating that “more than one billion people use the services of Google Maps every month.”
Often what users are looking for local businesses, says Google. From restaurants to car stands or dentists. Would not it be fantastic if traders could show ads to people looking for your services?
“Relevant ads in Google Maps can now appear at the bottom of the screen after the user do a search,” says the company. Include a title, ad text, and link to the page with directions on how to get.
When users click on the link or slide your finger to see more information, Google charges a new type of click, called “Get location details”, at a cost equal to a standard CPC (cost per click).
Users then receive additional information about the company: address, phone number, photos, reviews and whatever else there is.
