79% of mobile malware are for Android and only 1% for iOS ... - Tudocelular.com

In a recent report published by Public Intelligence in conjunction with various sectors of the U.S. government shows a huge difference between the number of malware for Android compared to other mobile platforms.

According to the survey, 79% of malware for mobile systems are for Android, second comes Symbian with 19%, then the iOS 0.7% and finally the Windows Mobile and BlackBerry with 0.3% each.

This only affirms what we already know: Due to the large number of users and the Android open platform, the system is much more attractive to any kind of attack.

Three types of failures security in Android were identified in the report, which were by SMS trojans, rootkits and domains fake Google Play. It is recommended by the report that Android users in addition to being ever vigilant and do not download anything suspicious, install some sort of security app on their devices.

However, despite this research put Android as number 1 in attacks, shows a smaller percentage than other surveys. Juniper Networks, the company recently estimated that 92% of all mobile malware are for Android. However, other reports as recently published by McAfee show that the number of malware for Android has grown by 35% in the second half of the year.
