Tegra K1 “Denver” – The first 64-bit ARM CPU for Android – Pplware

Performance identical to a PC

One of the differentiating factors of technology companies is innovation! This field Nvidia has been a step there ahead of the competition and, in the segment of CPU’s, even has what is considered the most advanced CPU for mobile devices – Nvidia Tegra K1 (coming, eg , tablet with NVidia Shield) … but there is more news.

In the Nvidia Tegra K1 to 32 bits (which was announced at CES this year) Nvidia confirmed, eight months then it will launch shortly the mighty Tegra K1 “Denver” 64-bit

The Tegra K1 “Denver” will be the first 64-bit CPU for Android devices, fully compatible with the ARMv8 architecture. Nvidia has confirmed that (obviously) it will have support for Android L and the first units are already in the market this year.

Unlike the Tegra K1 Quad Core ( 4 cores) at 2.3 Ghz, the two will pair Denver Denver’s CPU speeds in the order of 2.5 Ghz at its Kepler architecture of 192 cores.

According to Nvidia, the model of two cores will have a “significant performance” compared to models 4 and 8 cores.

The chip microarchitecture super-scalar seven levels ( enabling the completion of seven simultaneous instructions per clock cycle) also includes 128KB 4-way instruction L1,64KB 4-way L1 data and 16-way 2MB L2 cache cache cache. Noted that the 32-bit version only allows three operations simultaneously.

Overall, the Tegra K1 Denver will offer a super performance and a better management Power where the equipment will be integrated. According to the theoretical speeds presented …
