Of all the devices placed on the shelves in the second quarter, 84.7% were Android
The market analysis firm IDC released a recent research that indicates that the base of smartphones that were the shelves worldwide in the second quarter of 2014, 84.7% were Android.
The number of devices is 255 300 000 of a total of 301 300 000. The global smartphone sales increased 24.3% compared to the same period in the previous year, as reported to TechRadar.
Apple ranked second with 11.7%, equivalent to about 35, 2%, down market, since the same period in 2013 was 13% of the market base
