Google revealed the market shares of each version of Android, the first values to be shared after the official launch of the new version of the operating system: Lollipop. Although there are good indicators, such as the fact that the KitKat already be the most used version, there are others who are unlikely to be proud of: Android 5.0 is not even in 0.1% of devices.
Even though the software was released about a month and there are few devices that can migrate from official way for the operating system, it is still more a situation that exposes a major weakness Android – upgrade to new versions of software.
Currently only the Nexus equipment, new generation of Motorola smartphones, the LG G3 and few more equipment is that they can have access to the Android Lollipop.
Apple, even when going through an unusual situation for the iOS, got past five days to ensure that 46% of users migrate to iOS 8.
But all is not bad in the Android realm. In just over one year Google was that 33.9% of all equipment they use the KitKat version, a value far from being desirable, is at least sign of a larger effort to ensure that equipment is in line with the most recent news.
The Android Jelly Bean, which was launched in 2012 in version 4.1, is set in 48.7% of all equipment, almost half. But these are cumulative figures since the Jelly Bean consists of three different versions.
Finally emphasis on Android 2.2 and 2.3 which together still account for almost 10% of the market – were launched in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
