In order to focus some important and necessary resources for Firefighters, the bombeiros.pt portal recently launched an application for Android for this purpose.
This is a pioneering application in Portugal and is available for free on Google Play.
By adopting the Portal’s own name, the bombeiros.pt app provides information on civil protection issues to professionals in this area but also to the public . According to Sérgio Cipriano, portal administrator, the project was developed in partnership with Nuno Santos, a student at the University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and firefighter in Sabrosa.
The application includes the following features:
- extinguishers
- Dangerous goods
- Emergency Prehospital
- Active Events
- Fire Risk
- Driving Off Road
- Current Location
- Water Points
The app also has information on how to approach a victim, information about basic life support, airway obstruction, information on forest fires, etc.
In the Pplware information, Sergio Cipriano said that is aimed at integrating other features, thus enabling greater convenience of all users of these resources and on the other hand, extend the application to IOS. As a challenge, the Portal administrator bombeiros.pt leaves open any collaborations and suggestions for this application (for both Android and for iOS and even Windows Phone).
