Samsung announces notebook hybrid Windows and Android - PC World

Samsung announced on Thursday, during an event in London, the launch of Activ Q , one ultrabook hybrid, and can transform between a notebook and a tablet, it also gives the user the possibility to choose the operating system: Windows 8 or Android 4.2.2. No reboot the machine to switch between systems, simply touch the screen. It is even possible to fix Android apps to Windows 8 Start Screen.

The machine has 1.4 inch thick, weighs 1.3 kg and is based on an Intel Core i5 4th generation (family Haswell) accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. The 13-inch screen and touch is the main highlight, with a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels, higher than the Macbook Pro with Retina display (2560 x 1600 pixels on the 13.3-inch model).

According to Samsung the Activ Q has a battery life up to 9 hours of use. A feature called SideSync allows users to synchronize information between the two operating systems, and even manage a smartphone connected to the machine.

Still no word on when the ENABLE Q hit stores, nor its price.
