screen interface initial 5 Nexus first device with the new version of Android, has much greater integration with Google Now Unlike other traditional launchers, all screen functions are managed by the application. While the Nexus 5 has a file called GoogleHome.apk that the system recognizes as the launcher, it just does not pass a model that redirects all the functions present in the home screen for the Google Search app.

With this method, the company maintains backward compatibility with other equipment and allows the interface of the home screen is updated by Google Play instead of the old need to wait for an update of the operating system.
