Nokia may have been the first to support RAW shooting on smartphones (Lumia see 1020 and 1520), but Google is also working hard to not get behind. A piece of code of the operating system of the robot has references that indicate that Google is working to bring the RAW format support for a new camera API, allowing the device to store images in its pure format, without compression.
Support for RAW allows for greater ease of handling of images by an editor, including a fix handling of images and more practical.
Another code snippet also hinted that there will be official support for external cameras in the system, perhaps something closer to the special lenses Sony smartphone (and QX100 QX10) . A system message discovered in the code does not specify exactly what type of camera to be supported.
The message itself: “The camera device is removable and was disconnected from Android device camera or the service closed the connection due to a request for access to the highest priority device camera. “
