Upcoming versions of Android can prevent programs that require root work. According to an expert programmer, a self titled Chainfire, Android should receive changes to their file systems that block root access in many applications.
According to him, the new code commits to “master tree” of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and prevents the superuser execute files located in / data. It is likely that this can be seen already in the next version of the OS.
And what does that mean? That many developers will need to update their applications to circumvent the issue. While there is no definitive solution, Chainfire says it is important that the community is aware of the problem so that they can, together, looking for a way to overcome it.
