The idea is that Android works as a centerpiece of entertainment and information for drivers. Also according to sources who spoke to the WSJ, Android will “ allow drivers and passengers to access music, navigation, apps and services similar to those which are now widely available on smartphones with Android. ” So it is not hard to imagine the new features that cars have, such as integrated GPS, just to name one example. In addition, Google also would be closing a partnership with Nvidia, known hardware manufacturer, so in an effort they make Android an important technology for future vehicles. The information on this new endeavor are scarce, the text of the WSJ itself is pretty poor for more information, but the two companies plan to reveal more details about this plan already at CES (Consumer Electronic Show) will begin on June 07 (Tuesday Friday).

Coincidentally or not, this seems to be a new technology race since the last WWDC, which occurred in June 2013, Apple also unveiled plans for a technology to be used in cars. I’m talking about the “iOS in the Car”, which will integrate the mobile system of apple with several cars. Manufacturers like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Audi to Own shown interest in this future technology. Apple proposes that with iOS in the Car drivers may have a control of calls and messages, as well as be able to use Siri and take information from satellites, among other things.

seems that this marriage between gadgets and cars is the next evolutionary step in technology. Let’s wait and see what will come out of this new technology race.
