Although the history of the platform has effectively begun a few years earlier, in 2008 alone came to an integrated smartphone market, beginning a journey that led to market leadership. That’s where the platform sponsored by Google remains, with over 1.3 million apps available in the store and overwhelming market share in equipment. It is worth remembering, for example, that the first version of Android that was premiered shop applications associated with the operating system, the date Android Market, which started with 35 apps, a number that leaves no doubt regarding the evolution of the platform in the following years.

We suggest you take a trip to the Android world since the beginning of time, revisiting some of the key features introduced with each version. We started the trip at a time when support for video recording still was not a given mobile phones and ended an era in which the ultra high definition no longer escapes the Android functionalities.

To end it is worth noting that Android was founded in 2003 The initial project aimed to develop an operating system for digital cameras, but even before reaching the hands of Google in 2005 had changed the focus to concentrate on developing an alternative to Symbian and Windows Mobile, which took their first steps in the smartphone market by then.

Only in November 2007 was known more about the project and confirmed the intentions that led to some of Google’s plans to enter the mobile market. The platform was presented as the first product of the Open Handset Alliance, a Google led to the development and promotion of open standards alliance.

In September of the following year it was announced the first phone with Android, which a few months before had seen the light of day in SDK introduced in February. The smartphone did debut the Android hit stores on October 22, 2008.
