Android will have L data encryption enabled by default – Digital Look

It was not just that Apple has decided to strengthen the encryption of the data of its users with the update of the mobile operating system. Google also confrmou that the next Android update will also make the encryption of user data is the system default.

In a statement sent to the Washington Post, the company says that the encryption of information will be part of the process activation of the cell, and not just another optional feature, as happens now.

“For over three years offered the Android encryption with keys stored only on the device, without which can be passed to the authorities. With the new release, the encryption will be enabled soon ‘in the box’, then you will not even think about activate it, “says Niki Christoff to the Washington Post.

The new version of Android, called only the “L Android” has not yet confirmed release date. Among the major changes are a complete redesign of visual identity system, but some important changes “under the hood” will happen, like encryption as standard, for example.

If you have not seen, Apple also adopted the same measure iOS 8, encrypting user data as standard. The competitor Google also says it is not able to pass the password set by the user, preventing delivery of the information to authorities.
