Android share grows a little bit more KitKat – TeK.sapo

The value calculated for the period ended September 9 last is 24.5% and compares with 20.9% in August, 17.9% in July and 13% in June.

Despite the growth, the KitKat remains the second most popular version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean behind the version that dropped to 25.1%.

Adding all versions of Android Jelly Bean’s market share is at 53.8%, slightly below the 54.2% achieved in August.

Although the vast majority of users already concentrated in newer versions, the Android operating system remains highly fragmented and the scenario will worsen with the coming Android L, the next major version of Google’s mobile platform.
