Synchronize files between PC and Android with BitTorrent Sync - Tecmundo

BitTorrent Sync is an app that has come to butt heads with other systems synchronizing files, like Dropbox.

However, here you will not have a system of cloud storage servers, but can only maintain synchronization between your devices, making it even faster and more secure.

First of all, you need to keep the devices connected on the same network. Then install the program on your gadget with Android (link) and your computer (link). In both, just follow the default installation.

the computer

Open BitTorrent Sync on both machines. On your computer, select the “Add a Folder Sync” at the bottom of the screen. In the new window, you can choose the folder you want to use to sync.

To do so, click the “Browse” and just give a click on the selected folder so that it appears selected on the screen and then click “Select Folder”. You will be redirected to the previous screen and click on “Generate” and “Ok”, in that order.

The next step is to click on “Mobile Connect”. A QR Code should appear and you only need to determine whether to give full access to modify files or device users can only view the existing content.

Android

In the tab “Send” choose “Receive Files”. The camera of the device is active and then you only need it mirá the QR code on your computer to access the documents. For those who want to share files in Android PC, the system is a little different.

Start

to the tab “Backup” or “Sync” and choose the icon located in the upper right corner of the screen. Then choose the folder to be shared. Then the app will provide an alphanumeric passkey. Copy the number on your computer, going back to the tab “Add a Folder Sync” and providing the code in “Folder secret”. Once you choose a destination folder and confirm the transfer is initiated.
