A new strain of malware that was designed for personal computers, spread now for phones, specifically for the Android operating system, reports the Tek.
Android operating systems are the new victims of malware released by a hacker group called ‘REVETON’ and known to be responsible for various types of ransomware, a virus that affects computers and phones, blocking them and then asking for a ransom to be unlocked, advances the Tek.
This new variant virus was discovered by a security researcher known as Kafeine and is similar to Cryptolocker a ransomware discovered in 2013 that blocks computers.
In systems Android operating, the virus in question affects users of the devices that connect to a any infected area, immediately blocking the machine to demand a ransom in exchange for his release. This redemption is the payment of a cash value.
The devices are infected only if the user is redirected to an application file containing the malware, install this application, because the process is not automatic .
