The new “variant” have been launched by a group called REVETON cybercriminals responsible for different types of ransomware, and was discovered by a security researcher known as Kafeine.
 

The malware sample is similar to Cryptolocker, the famous ransomware discovered in 2013 that blocks computers.
 

In the case of Android devices, malware affects users of smartphones and tablets that bind to a field infected with this Trojan Ransomware, blocking equipment and demanding something in return for their release or “liberation” .
 

In this situation, the virus requires the victim to pay a pecuniary ransom to release the smartphone of their malicious activity, where the user is redirected to a pornographic website in which is taken to access a file application that contains the malware.
 

The device is infected only if its owner access to install this application, since the process is not automatic, stresses the Kaspersky Lab
