MINIX announces set-top-box and X8s Neo X8 with Android - Pplware

… and support for 4K UHD videos

The fashion of boxes for streaming content seems to be fashionable. After the AppleTV, Roku and Google Chromecast 3, FireTV giant Amazon, Minix recently announced its latest range of set-top-boxs with Android, the X8 and Neo X8s .

Both now come with Amlogic chipset and must also be mentioned the possibility of playing videos 4K .

Over the recent times MINIX has gained a lots of reputation in the segment of the set-top box. The company recently released two new set-top-boxs:. Neo X8 and Neo X8s, that have a set of very interesting specifications

NEO X8

NEO X8 comes with a CPU Quad Core Cortex and a Octa Core GPU Mali-450 . Regarding memory, the machine brings 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of storage memory .

The equipment brings to the Android operating system KitKat 4.4 and a modified version of XBMC.

NEO X8s

In the case of NEO X8s features are very similar to NEO X8. There are however to highlight the 16 GB of storage memory and full support for Dolby Digital and DTS. This version comes with Amlogic S802-H chip unlike NEO X8 that comes with the S802 Amlogic chip.

The company also unveiled a remote control that can be used to control, via wireless, set-top-box. The command comes with a gyro, directional buttons and also other functionality

The company has not announced pricing or availability for both equipment
