1Q2014 - Android Tablets sell 2x more than iPads - Pplware

Android continues to lead iOS follows … Ranking second . Overall growth of 9.3%

After the first three months of 2014 (1Q2014), it’s time to make one more swing. No big news, Android continues to lead in the isolated segment of the tablets, followed Apple and the iPad. In a period where it hit the global brand 57.6 million units sold, signifying a growth of around 19%, the tablets are now a clear choice for users.

Google still has reason to celebrate. According to the latest data from Strategy Analytics, Android tablets remain well ahead in the tablet segment with a share of around 66%. The iPad, the most direct competitor, only managed 28.4%, followed by Windows with only 5.8%.

Comparing the 2014 figures with the same period of 2013, we should highlight the breakdown of iPad sales (about 12%) and a rise in sales of Android at around 13%. Windows keeps a percentage of 5.8% already “brought” 2013.

The segment of tablets seems to be slowly occupying the segment of the PC’s. It is true that nowadays most of the services / applications based on Web. But there is still some way to go in terms of productivity (eg creating reports, extenson documents, etc.) and also the interaction with the user itself .
