selling tablet computers with Android system increased last year, dethroning the iPad, according to data released Monday by the technology consulting firm Gartner.
Sales of tablets spent the year exceeded 195 million, an increase of 68% compared to 2012, while the number of iPad sold grew nine million, for a total of 70.4 million.
Plots of tablets sold with Android system was 61.9 % last year, while in 2012 was 45.8%, according to data from Gartner.
“In 2013, tablets have become the main phenomenon, with a wide choice of Android tablets» , said in a note, Gartner consultant.
According to these analysts, Apple continues to dominate the market in the top segment, but the low cost Android became appealing to consumers with tight budgets, in emerging markets.
