With the arrival of Office for iPad, Microsoft decided to conduct a review on how the application suite is offered on smartphones. Formerly presenting several restrictions on use, the software can now be used to its fullest for home users who have iPhone or Android compatible devices.

According to the company, the decision is the goal of aligning what is offered by Office Mobile for Windows Phone with their counterparts for competing platforms. With it, you can now view and edit rich content without having to pay any fees, eliminating the need to have a record of Office 365 to take these actions.

Although evidence shows that the company should continue to collect not for business guests, there is much that Microsoft can do to prevent employees from installing the new free version of Office on their devices used to work. The organization used the announcement to confirm the development of a version of the suite for Android tablets, although it has not announced when it will be thrown.

For completeness, the company reinforced the fact that you are actively working on a version of Office with Metro interface, whose main target is Windows compatible devices with touch controls. “In the future, we hope to bring Office applications for the Windows Store and other popular platforms, including Android tablets,” said a spokesman for Microsoft.
